Memory in Jeju Pension

While writing this post, I'm still currently at Memory in Jeju. This is my first time blogging while I'm still overseas so you could see how impressed and satisfied i am with the pension.
This is how my day starts ... Upon arriving at jeju international airport, I took airport limousine bus 600 (5000 won) to jeju world cup stadium/e-mart. The bus journey takes about 1h and 15 mins. There are plenty of cabs outside e-mart so just hop on to one and make your way to Memory in Jeju. Please ensure that you have the exact address and phone number of the pension as many drivers are not sure of its location. The taxi fare is around 4000 won if the driver didn't lose his way. The first driver took many wrong turns and the taxi fare snowball to 8000 won. There are 3 different types of room; twin bed, ondol style and 2-storey apartment. I made a reservation for the ondol style room and never regret this choice. Reservation process was smooth and easy via emails and the boss, Darcy was quick in his replies. Darcy might seem to be a little cold but don't worry! He is a nice and helpful boss who is able to answer your questions fluently in English, advise on the places you can visit and help you hire a local taxi driver to drive you around in jeju.

Now to the most important part... my ondol style room! Basically, this pension is just like your next home. It has all the necessary utensils and pots for you to whip up a meal, heated flooring and bathroom heater to prevent you from freezing in the cold. Do stay at Memory in Jeju Pension if you happen to visit jeju.

Memory in  Jeju pension is located between 2 main tourist areas; Jungmun and Seowipo city area and its only flaw lies in its location. It is extremely far from the e-mart bus stop hence you need to take a cab to and from the pension .

Uncle Tetsu Cheese Cake! Now opened in Ion

I was squeaking with excitement when I saw Uncle Tetsu at Ion. I always wanted to try their cheesecakes but there is always a long long queue at their Japan ainstead wasutlets. This is their first outlet in Singapore and the best part is THERE IS NO QUEUE!

well... i was kinda disappointed.. given the fact that it is a cheese cake, there is no taste of cheese at all.. maybe it is better off calling it a egg cake instead.

Fish & Co

What happened to Fish & Co? I was there for lunch at its novena branch and food was mediocre. I ordered the lunch set which comes with a main course, salad bar and one soft drink. Passionfruit drink tasted like cough syrup and the artic fish and chips was... bad, really bad.

Look at how much batter I need to scrap off! The fish is only one thin layer. This is most prob my last visit to Fish & Co. No more!

Lobby Court at Shangri-La Singapore

I haven't had high tea for such a long time! I was at Lobby Court at Shangri-La recently, enjoying a lazy and laid back afternoon. ^-^
We had a 3 tier high tea set which consisted of sandwiches, scones and pastries. The scones came piping hot and the butter melts instantaneously when it came into contact with the scones. It's heavenly even though I'm not a fan of scones. There is quite a number of beverages that you can select from. However, I felt that variety could be better. You couldn't change your choice of tea but food could be replenished. Quality of food was not too bad but if you are looking for variety, Rose Veranda upstairs might be a better choice. I spent about $40 per person on a weekday afternoon.

Blueberry and Pomegranate tea
Smoked salmon sandwich
Chocolate truffle cake

Hello Kitty toilet paper

A fantastic addition to spice up the prosperous festive atmosphere at home. $5.65 at Cold Storage.

Nissin lemon biscuit

This is one of the nicest lemon biscuits that I have ever eaten! It is crispy with a delicious sugar layer on top.
Available at $2 at Liang court.
