New: Oreo wafer

This item is having a promotion at $1.40 per box at NTUC. However, Oreo lovers would be disappointed. It doesn't have any Oreo taste at all. It taste like the red packaging wafer biscuit that we used to eat when we were young.

Tung Lok Signatures at Orchard Parade Hotel

Tung Lok Classic has recently revamped to Tung Lok Signatures. I have never tried Tung Lok Classic but this Tung Lok Signatures is a lot better as compared to its sister branch at Vivo City.

Suckling Pig Special at $16.80 + per person. This is totally not worth. Don't order!

Roast duck at $20. This dish came piping hot. This is good!
Mee Hoon in gravy with Crab meat and egg ($28). I love its gravy and the quite generous amount of crab meat inside.

Stir fried prawns with vermicelli in white pepper sauce ($28). The prawns were fresh but vermicelli was a little dry. Imperial Treasure Nan Bei at Takashimaya scores better in this dish.
Mango Sago with ice cream and beancurd. This is nice but it didn't have the 'wah' factor.

Complimentary sourish fruit punch which aids in digestion. This is extremely good.

I would recommended this place to people who wants a quiet place with decent chinese food. On a weekday evening, only 5 tables are filled up. I had a 35% discount as I have the palate membership which comes with the Amex card. For more details about the palate membership, go to http://palate.sg/.
Without the palate discount, I would think that this place is a little overpriced.

Prudential Hotel in Jordan, Hong Kong

I stayed at Prudential Hotel in my recent trip to Hong Kong. However, it only has one plus point which is its location. It is directly linked to Jordan MRT station so it is sheltered all the way. However, if you are out before 10 am in the morning and come back after 10 pm, the escalators in Prudential Centre, leading to Prudential hotel is switched off. It means one has to climb 3 flights of stairs after a long tiring day. After the 3 flights of escalators, you turn left and you would see the concierge of Prudential Hotel. They would be able to help you up to the lobby level with your luggage as the lift is not accessible to the public. The escalators from the concierge to hotel lobby is extremely narrow. Large luggage would definitely have a problem. The staff wasn't very friendly but check in was quick and efficient.

There is another exit to Prudential hotel which is linked to Nathan Road and the airport bus A21 bus just stop right in front of the hotel. I stayed in the Premier room with free Wifi. I forgot to take a photo of its bedroom but basically, the bathtub was a little dirty with black spots so I have never used that. The pillows were springy so it was quite uncomfortable.

Will I stay here again?
Maybe? It is located at a terrific location but terrible service. On my way back to the airport, it was raining and they refused to call a cab for us and the reason behind it was that if the cab drivers cheat our money then it is their responsiblity and that was something that they didn't want to bare. Hmmm... Ok. I understand their point of view but I have been to so many HK hotels and this was the only one that said this. So...

For superior rooms, Wifi is chargeable so it might be better if you would just get a sim card from the convenience stores downstairs. You would need to purchase a sim card at HK100 and open your internet browser to select 7 days worth of unlimited wifi access at HK78. They have different options too, HK8 for 1 hour of Wifi access and HK28 for 1 day of Wifi access.  The rest of the money could be used to make international calls.

How to differentiate between real and fake Bioderma toner

Bioderma toner has been clinching many different awards in various magazines. It is also one of the must buy item in my recent trip to Hong Kong. However, one would have notice the vast difference in prices across different shops. So do note before buying. I have saw a few fakes selling at Argyle Centre, a popular shopping spot.
Before buying, take note of the following points.

1. The sentence ' For face and eyes' must be written until the 'Bioderma' word.
2. Try to twist on the cap. If it opens easily, don't buy!
3. Check for residues in the solution.

I bought mine in Bonjour for HK$118 (500ml).

Newly Opened: Ramen Kagetsu Arashi at Star Vista

The famous ramen chain in Japan has finally made its way to Singapore. Situated in the restaurant clustered Star Vista, its strategic location beside the taxi stand and shuttle bus stop never fail to turn heads. That also explains why it is already full house on its second day of operation.

The weekend lunch set is super worth the money. I ate the Arashi Genkotsu Ramen Set. It comes with one side dish of your choice and one green tea.
Usual price: $22.90. During lunch, you will save about $1 to $5 dollars, depending on the side dish you choose.

You could add different condiments into your soup for a change of taste.

Spicy chives that taste like kimchi!

                                                       Atas looking black pepper

Yukari - Japanese plum

I like that they serve you a large jar of ice water. It saves a lot of time and effort without having to keep waving for attention.

Gyoza. I'm not a big fan but this is not too bad.

Pork Cutlet

Super juicy and crispy

Arashi Genkotsu Sio Ramen - Not too bad.

Arashi Genkotsu Ramen - Highly recommend this. Its spicy soup base was really good and ramen was cooked to the perfect texture. However, improvement could be done to the egg. It was hard-boiled instead of the runny semi-boiled egg.

The portion is really huge but for weight/health conscious people, do give it a miss. The amount of oil floating on top of the soup is really...

Ichiban Boshi Seasonal Menu for April

March and April is a season for Sakura viewing! I just came back from Japan and was craving for Japanese food so I pop by Ichiban Boshi to satisfy my cravings!

Sakura drink and tart. The drink was quite a disappointment, it tastes like medicine. Tart is so~so.

The chicken in the middle is very good. It is topped up with cheese on top! The hotpot is their usual stuff. However, the plum powder sprinkled on the rice tastes a little...

Yummy salmon sushi with crab hotpot. Nothing out of the norm!

Sweet Musings at Star Vista

A newly opened candy store by Taiwanese. Their business seems to be quite good with a number of people grabbing tubs of milk pudding. Will try it someday!

Complimentary nougat for sampling! I love its texture, soft and chewy but it is a little too milky. Very different as compared to nougats that we usually get from Australia. Do give it a try.

Macdonalds double black pepper flamer

What more can I ask for?! This is one of the best combination that Macdonalds has came out with. Sour and tangy fries with crispy juicy chicken complemented with Lychee McFizz. Bursting with happiness!
Try this before it is gone!
