Review: My Humble house at Esplanade

Was there on a Saturday afternoon. It is almost empty with only us and another table. The staff were in the midst of setting up for a wedding banquet.

Nice flower arrangement for the new year

Humble house serves 2 kinds of tea, Pu er tea and Jasmine tea

Below are snapshots of their menu. They have beautiful names for their dishes.

Stir fried seafood rice with XO sauce. This dish was cooked to perfection but
portion size was small and their seafood only consists of one scallop and one prawn.

Cod fish pan fried with chef's special sauce. Fish was fresh and the special
sauce went very well with the fish.

Stewed Japanese noodles with Boston lobster and dried scallops. The noodles were
too soft to my liking and lobster was very small. I expected better stuff with the "$35
price tag."

Crispy boneless sakura chicken marinated with Mou Tai wine. For $16, I would
definitely not eat this again. It is so tiny and the taste of the chicken is weird. One
would be better off with a roast chicken drumstick from any hawker centres.
Will I be back again? Maybe
Point to note: If you have a Amex platinum card which comes with palate membership, this restaurant offers a 50% off total bill when you order at least 2 main courses. With the 50% discount off the total bill, this place is definitely worth a visit.

I was quite disappointed with the change of menu as they removed my favourite Peking duck and crispy noodles with seafood. Food quality has also dropped as compared to the last time I was there. However, service is still as awesome. I would highly recommend this place if you need somewhere that is peaceful and quiet.
